X-ZOO | The 36.5°C Series: The Temperature of Color, the Art of the Embrace

In the landscape of contemporary design, a growing number of emerging brands are looking beyond the singular definition of "furniture." Instead, they seek to reweave architecture, space, materials, and art into the fabric of daily life. For these creators, design is not merely the production of objects; it is an expression of perception, relationships, and lifestyle.

Established in 2022, X-ZOO stands as a compelling practitioner of this philosophy. Founders Margie Zhao and Xinru Wei both come from architectural backgrounds, yet they have transcended the traditional boundaries of the discipline. They translate spatial logic, material experimentation, and emotional resonance into a tangible language of objects that feels both interactive and narrative-driven.

From the widely acclaimed 36.5°C Series to the SOLID Series set to debut at Salone del Mobile (Milan), X-ZOO’s work consistently centers on a single inquiry: When furniture ceases to be purely functional, what role does it play in a space? Can it become a vessel for emotion, a catalyst for connection, or a gateway to a richer experience?

The founding of X-ZOO was never confined to a specific niche. The brand’s core ethos is rooted in "freedom." As a result, their spatial projects and furniture collections evolve concurrently on the same trajectory, rather than following a traditional "top-down" transition from large-scale architecture to small-scale objects.

Under this vision, whether it is a building, a room, or a chair, every creation is ultimately a response to the same fundamental proposition: how humans establish a relationship with the world. While architecture handles structural relationships and space organizes human behavior and flow, furniture moves closer—touching the body and the everyday. It serves as a more frequent, more intimate interface for interaction.
